Pockex Box Kit Appearance & Design

There are many noticeable differences between the versions, the biggest being that the tank no longer sits at the top of the device, it is now a side by side vape kit and the tank protrudes just above the top of the box kit where the battery and inner workings are hidden.

The Pockex box is heavier but we would put this down to the increase of battery capacity for this, I've never really been too bothered by the weight of a vape kit but it does feel sturdy. The body of the device feels soft in your hand and the casing for it is made out of tensile polymer material and it has a dimpled finish on it which helps with providing extra grip on the kit.

The tank itself is actually within the overall size of the box kit, though the airflow and the mouthpiece stands above the box. I prefer the shape of this version as it's not as tall and fits better in my pocket. To charge the device there is a USB-C charging port which is located on the side of the kit, so now it can stand up when on charge. This is another upgrade that I think is needed. I've never understood why charging ports are placed on the bottom of a vape device.

The fire button to activate the device is placed towards the top of the box kit in line with the tank. This is a perfect location for using your thumb to hit the fire button, so if you normally use your index finger, it may take a bit of time to get used to the change.

One of the important updates for the Pockex which makes it stand out from its predecessor is the fully adjustable airflow control which enables users to really customise their vaping experience. For those who aren't quite sure why this would make a difference, adjustable airflow allows you to switch between mouth to lung (MTL) and direct to lung (DTL) whilst using the correct coils. We will touch on the coils in more detail shortly.

The battery capacity has also been updated from 1500mAh to a very generous 2000mAh, this means that your vape kit will last longer and be perfect for those that prefer Direct to Lung vaping. Direct to Lung aka sub-ohm vaping requires more power which means that the battery is drained quicker than if you were to vape Mouth to Lung.

What coils are compatible with the Pockex Box kit?

The Aspire PockeX box kit comes with an integrated PockeX tank which has a 2ml E Liquid capacity which is TPD compliant. The tank comes pre-installed with a 0.6-ohm coil which is best for sub-ohm vaping. In the kit, there is also a spare PockeX coil which is a 1.2-ohm, which is a great choice for a flavourful Mouth to Lung vape. Aspire’s U-Tech coil technology is unique in that it circulates air twice through the coils, this creates a richer and smoother flavour that everyone wants from their vape device.

An added bonus with the Aspire Pockex box kit is that all existing PockeX coils are also compatible. Therefore you can use other versions of PockeX coils should you wish. The device has coil recognition technology that is great for adjusting the wattage accordingly with the inserted coils, this is to ensure you get the right throat hit based on your setup.

What colours are available for the PockeX Box Vape kit?

Just like many Vape Kits, there are a variety of colours to choose from, though this range doesn't have the most exciting of colours. There is the standard black and grey kit and I personally think the black version is the better looking.

The five colours available in this range are; Turquoise Green, Black, Grey, Blue Navy and Date Red.

How to fill the PockeX Box Kit

Another upgrade that's been given is the filling system and how it is done. Aspire listened to peoples feedback about the original PockeX tank and they took action, people were not happy with having to unscrew and remove the top of the tank just to refill. Aspire's technology has come a long way since their original device and that's why it is now a much easier way to top up your tank.

To refill the PockeX Box, all you need to do is push the little dot on the top of the tank and this allows the top to slide out which then reveals the filling port. Simply squeeze your favourite all day vape into the tank and close.

Pockex Box Kit Performance

The PockeX Box has an improved battery capacity which means that your device will last longer. This is very important in my opinion as nobody wants their device to run out during the day. The fact you can also charge by USB X means that it will spend less time on a charge. If you're into sub-ohm vaping you won't want the battery to decline too quickly because this will affect your overall vaping experience as the throat hits and vapour weakening happens when the power reduces. With an extra 500mAh, in theory, the device should last around a third longer than the original PockeX.

There is also a small light located just below the charging port and this indicates the battery life. When the light shines red it tells us that the battery has 30% life left. Blue light tells us the battery has 30-60% life and a green light advises us the PockeX Box is over 60% charged.

The coils are also perfect for this kit, similar to the PockeX original, you can rest assured that you'll get the same throat hit and flavour from your new vape kit. I'm glad they've made previous PockeX coils compatible as this means that if you have any old spare ones available you can still make use of them.

The device is very simple to use just like the original, which is why this is a great choice for all types of vapers. It's a great starter kit for anyone that wants to quit smoking. The only thing you need to do is keep the device charged, simply refill using the new refill system which is now easier than before and make sure to replace your coils if they burn out.

Final Thoughts

I’m very happy with the newest PockeX version, as I’ve said it’s very easy to use. By choosing your desired coils and adjusting the airflow you can fine-tune your vape and make it work for you.

Easy to use and more versatile and that is why I love this device compared to the original. The new design may not suit everyone but I like the new quirky design as it is more compact.

The only thing I would probably change with this is the choices of colours, I’d like to see a colour that stands out more.

Let us know your thoughts on the PockeX Box, do you like the new design? How do you compare it to its predecessor?

Can you get a bigger tank with it? 2.6 seems small. I’m using 5.5 right now.. and I run out half through the day
