Vapcell K25 Battery

‘’A great alternative to the Samsung 25R or Sony VTC5’’

Before we discuss this battery we need to go over some basics. For your safety, please do not keep these batteries loose in your pocket and always use a suitable charger. Before using any batteries please make yourself familiar with battery safety, you can find out more at Vape Battery safety guide

Vaping has brought relief to millions of people all over the world as it helps them to quit smoking. What some people tend to forget, however, is that batteries need to be looked after. Like many things, Vaping Batteries require maintenance and you need to know how to use them safely. Issues can arise when Batteries are not properly looked after, so it’s best to stay clued up on not just your device, but vaping news and safety.

For years people have used Samsung 25R 18650 batteries in their vaping device but now you won't find any vape shops selling these batteries.

Samsung’s warning to 18650 Battery users

Lithium-ion batteries from Samsung now has a warning on their website stating that their batteries are “not intended” for use in e-cigarette devices. Samsung have even suggested that using their batteries in vaping devices would result in “fire or explosion”, causing “serious injury or property damage”.

Many vape shops including Jumponthevape have been selling the Samsung 25R 18650 batteries alongside Vape Mods and Vape Kits and it was a bit of a shock to receive a letter from Samsung demanding for their products to be removed from all vaping websites. This led to a minor disruption but have no fear, there are other 18650 Vape Batteries to use instead.

Samsung's warnings sound rather scary but we understand that Samsung wants to protect their reputation and for them the best way to do this is to say not to use their batteries. In the past there has been many horrendous incidents where vaping devices have exploded with 18650 batteries.

In many cases this was due to non-genuine batteries being used in vaping devices and also people not using them correctly and in a safe manner. Unregulated mods were also devices that had problems, mechanical mods do not have the safety features that regulated mods have and once again many problems arose when people did not know how to use them safely.

We have mentioned our battery guide which we can not stress enough that everyone should read. Batteries can become very dangerous if they are not kept in good condition, if the sleeve of a battery is damaged then they are not safe to use.

Can you still use Samsung 25r batteries?

If you own a Samsung 18650-25R battery, we would recommend to follow the manufacturers guidelines and refrain from using them in vaping devices. 18650 batteries can also be used in some torches so if there is an alternative use to them then great, if not then we would suggest disposing of them in your local recycling centre, some supermarkets also have a very handy battery disposal service.
